Abberations: The Forgotten

[CW: stalker mention in paragraph four.]

A highly dangerous abberation. It’s a writhing mass of what looks to be insaan. No one is sure of how they’re formed or what they truly are. The name “The Forgotten” comes from the fact this abberation will call out to those they target:

Don’t you remember me?! It’s (incomprehensible sounds)!

They always know the name of the one they target, along with details that typically only one who knew of them on some level would know. Their would-be victims, however, have no idea who they are. It was thanks to the fact that some were able to escape the encounter with the forgotten that people even know of this abberation at all.

Naturally, investigations of the forgotten have been underway since they’ve discovered the abberation. However, they still haven’t found anything concrete. While some of the survivors have lost loved ones, there are those who swear that all their loved ones are accounted for. It could be a stalker or someone with a grudge who has become a part of the writing mass. The current top theory is that the faces attached to the forgotten are those victims who were not able to escape and thus were devoured and erased from the minds of their loved ones. Whether their presence is noticed or not may be dependent on how close the victim truly was to their target.

While the forgotten is considered a devastating and horrifying monster, thankfully there doesn’t seem to be many of them. It’s believed that the spread has lessened due to the dimensional gates cutting off a chunk of its potential food source.

Officers have reported that they’ve seen xayawaan versions of the forgotten dragging itself after its xayawaan victim. This may be due to the fact the forgotten has less insaan to go after or it may have always had versions that’d go after other species.
